Obituary
Madison - Delma Baker, age 102, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2021. She was born January 31, 1919 in Springdale Township; the daughter of Harald and Betsy (Rue) Stugard. Delma was Baptized at Springdale Lutheran Church where both sets of grandparents were charter members and was confirmed at Mount Horeb Lutheran Church. Delma graduated from Mount Horeb High School in 1936 and the former Madison Business College in Madison, WI.
Having grown up in-town and on the farm she was a delightful and adventuresome person. Delma Stugard was married to Lloyd C Bristol and then to Leonard R Baker. Len & Delma ran LR Baker Plumbing Service for 48 years before he died in 1997. Delma raised 6 kids and the office retiring in her late eighties. She volunteered with the Monona Mother's Club, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Bethel Horizons, Bethel Food Pantry, Bethel Parish Shop, and God's Hands events. Photography was her passion; she was treasurer for Bethel Camera Club from 1996 to 2009. Delma was also a member of Couples Club and XYZ at Bethel. She traveled to Norway, Spain, Morocco, Brazil, Nova Scotia and around the United States including an excursion to Alaska.
Delma is survived by: her children; Hugh (Karen) Bristol of Sun Prairie, Paul (Susan) Bristol of Beaver Dam, Barbara (Ed Wegert) Jackson of Adams, Dick (Cindy Parisi) Baker of Poynette, Alice (Jay Aguirre) Natvig of Richland Center, and Jim (Joy) Baker of Fitchburg, grandchildren; Tim (Christina) Bristol, Tom (Jenna) Bristol, Joel (Jamieann) Braatz, Micah (Brandi Lane) Bristol, Sarah (Elijah) Low, Jeff Bristol, Aline Bristol, Mike Jackson, Joe Jackson, Greg Weist, Jami (Adam) Mandel, David (Erika Johnson) McIntyre, Sam (Carrie) Lawson, Carisa (John) Cunningham, Dawn (Chad) Raby, Suzette (Aaron Robbins) Natvig, and Melyn Baker, 33 Great-Grandchildren, 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren, and a niece, Lucille McKee, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, infant brother Howard, 2.5 year old sister Helen, brothers Johnnie and Banford (Kathryn) Stugard, Bristol and Baker in-laws, and grandson Scott Bristol. Delma was the last member of her generation.
Funeral will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 16, 2021 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 North Sherman Ave. Visitation will Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
