Obituary
MADISON – Franklin Joseph Hilliard, age 70, has passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021. Frank was born on June 5, 1951 in Madison, WI to Franklin and Elizabeth (Braun) Hilliard. He graduated from East High School in 1969 where he was involved in Drum and Bugle Corp. Frank went on to UW Whitewater where he studied broad field social studies. After school he pursued his music career. He was an unparalleled flute and sax player and was part of the fabric of Madison’s music history. Frank enjoyed debating philosophy, art, and the way the world works. He touched many lives and definitely will be remembered by the twinkle in his eye.
Frank is survived by his daughters, Nicole and Lola; niece, Andrea, nephew, Frankie; great nephew, Jack; sister-in-law, Hanneke Hilliard-Tanzer; and the mothers of his children, Lori and Heidi. He is further survived by other family and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Don.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 11AM until 1PM on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Avenue, Madison.
