Obituary
MADISON/STANLEY – Gareth “Gary” Foerster, age 74, passed away on June 30, 2021 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI. Gary was born on June 6, 1947 in Madison, WI to parents, Theodor and Violet (McDonnell) Foerster.
Gary was a 1965 graduate of Madison East High School. He joined the U.S. Navy and was a gunner’s mate and ordnance mechanic, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a proud member of the VFW, American Legion, and the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 5. Gary was a volunteer and past Junior and Senior Vice President of the VFW Post 8483. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Gary is survived by his sons, Jim and John; grandchildren, Joey and Nicole; great-grandchildren, Jason and Layla. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 8, 2021 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, with Deacon Todd Martin officiating. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life will take place Thursday, July 8 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the VFW, 5737 County Hwy CV.
