Obituary
Madison, WI/ Calumet, MI/ Detroit, MI-Alvin Albert Ingles, age 82, passed from this life on March 18, 2016. Alvin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He married his wife, Catherine Marie Ingles (Sorenson) on March 31, 1953 in her parent's home in Laurium, MI. They lived in Detroit, MI and gave birth to three children there, then moved to Laurium MI and gave birth to three additional children. Alvin was always working - an auto mechanic, a miner, a manager of Montgomery Ward, a Clark Gas Station owner, a maintenance mechanic, and a security guard. He worked at the Memorial Union for over 25 years and was loved and respected by his peers. Since his childhood, Alvin was always an outdoors enthusiast. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and archery. Alvin lived for several years in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and he was especially fond of the Copper Country. Alvin was proud that he, his father, and his brothers were all accepted in the Masonic Lodge as Shrine Masons. In his retirement, he became very involved with archery, earning many medals in competition.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine, his sons, Daniel and Scott, his parents, Edith and Alvin, brothers Lawrence and Albert and sister, Elaine.
He leaves behind his children, John Alvin (Lori), Sherry (Richard) Reevey, Mark Peter (Lisa), and Julie Ann (Tom) Davis, 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and his sister Arlene (Phil) Schaefer.
Memorials may be made to Blackhawk Archery Club, Warner Park Neighborhood Center, Madison Masonic Lodge, The Wisconsin Alliance for the Mentally Ill or the Wisconsin Council of the Blind. He will be greatly missed by all, but always loved and never forgotten.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave, Madison, at 10 a.m. with funeral service to follow at 11 a.m.
