Paul Temple

Paul Alan Temple, age 39, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021. He was born on January 14, 1982, to Stephen and Mary Ann (Kamper) Temple in Wauwatosa, WI. Paul married Molly (Webb) Temple on July 26, 2008, in Madison, WI.

Paul graduated from Wauwatosa East High School in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, followed by graduating with his Bachelor’s degree from UW-Madison in 2004. He worked as Opinion editor at the Badger Herald, where he met his wife, Molly, along with dozens of lifelong friends. After college, he worked on John Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign, an experience he looked back on as one of the best of his life. He attended law school at DePaul University in Chicago, then returned to Madison. He acted as in-house counsel at Broadcast Interactive Media and Shoutlet, and since 2014 he was an attorney with AlphaTech Counsel, working with and guiding emerging companies in tech industries.

In 2018, Paul’s son, Jack, was born, and was truly the apple of his eye. Paul was an amazing, attentive, and loving father who never for a second let Jack forget how much he was adored. He truly was the best Dada Jack could ever have.

Also in 2018, Paul fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a pilot. Being up in the air brought him peace like nothing else.

Paul loved the Chicago Cubs, and one of Molly’s greatest accomplishments is turning him into a Packers fan as well (with apologies to his Bears fan mother). He was always up for a good brandy Old Fashioned, a gin and tonic, or a game of golf, and he had a spreadsheet for everything. Paul was absolutely a character, with a laugh that no one who heard it will ever forget. He was as devoted a friend as there is, and he never hesitated to help anyone who needed it, any time of day or night. He was passionately committed to social justice, democratic politics, the Rolling Stones, and Martin Sexton.

Paul is survived by his wife, Molly; son, Jack; parents, Mary Ann, and Steve Temple; parents-in-law Tom and Diane Webb; sister-in-law Allie Webb; aunts and uncles Victoria (Tom) Bonesho; John (Carla) Temple; and Elizabeth Temple; cousins Tony (Kelly) Cerminaro; Mike (Gretchen) Cerminaro; Cate (Taylor) Bonesho; Allie (Jesse) Bonesho; Emily (Ethan) Schuler; and Kenzie Temple, along with countless friends who were like family.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents.
