Randall Rohde

Randall “Randy” Stephen Rohde, age 61, was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 30, 2021.

He was born on November 28, 1959, to James and Judith (Merrill) Rohde in Freeport, IL. After graduating from Freeport Senior High School (Go Pretzels!), he went on to meet the love of his life on a blind date. Randy married Mary Catherine “Cathy” Brandon on November 28, 1980, in Freeport, IL and they were blessed with 40 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they had 2 children, Sara, and Jason.

Randy worked as Route Salesman for The Sara Lee Corporation for 30 years. He enjoyed talking with people on his route and helping customers find what they needed, even if it wasn’t bread. He retired in January 2021.

Randy’s greatest accomplishment was his family. You could see him cheering on his grandkids as they played soccer or at gymnastic meets. He also loved the outdoors, Randy loved going camping with his wife and kids each summer. He also loved watching Wisconsin Sports (Packers, Badgers, Bucks).

He brought joy to everyone around him and will be dearly missed by all.

Randy is survived by his wife; children, Sara (Matthew) Shinker, Jason Rohde; grandchildren, Jack, and Kate Shinker; siblings Jim (Cindy) Rohde, Michelle (Kerry) DeBoer and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Judith (Merrill) Rohde, his father-in-law, David Brandon, and his father, James Rohde.

A Celebration of Randy’s Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 3, 2021, at Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 N. Sherman Ave, Madison. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
