Mildred Mary “Millie” O’Neill, 72, of Madison, WI, passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 14, 2021. She was born on December 15,1948 in Madison, the daughter of Norman and Rose M. (Rau) Martinson. She graduated Madison East High School Class of 1966.

Millie worked for many years at AT&T and retired in the early 2000’s. She will be remembered for her loving and caring personality, which extended to animals as well as people. Millie volunteered for many organizations including (but not limited to) Fishing Has No Boundaries, The Wisconsin Telephone Pioneers Association, and the William S. Middleton VA Hospital. Millie loved spending time with her family and friends. She was an enthusiastic Wisconsin Badger Basketball, Football, and Hockey fan and also loved rooting for Da Bears and Cubs.

Millie is survived by her son, Christopher (Heidi) O’Neill of Madison; her daughter, Jennifer (Jim Feuling) Peterson of Madison; grandchildren, Zoe and Meagan O’Neill; brother-in-law, Don Jones of Madison and several nieces and nephews. Millie was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Kaia Martinson, Claire Jones and Rose Martinson; brother, Norman Martinson; and son-in-law, Lance Peterson.

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 6, 2021 from noon to 4 p.m. at The East Side Club 3735 Monona Drive, Madison, WI 53714. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Humane Society.
