Obituary
Monona- Our beloved Rory Robert Lipke, age 52, left us too soon on November 7, 2021, after a courageous 11-month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on January 12, 1969, to Tenneyce (Anderson/ Lipke) Sprecher and Carneth Lipke in Madison.
Rory attended Blessed Sacrament grade school, later Waunakee, and Monroe High School and earned an associate degree in Marketing at Madison College. He was a proud resident of Monona for over twenty-five years. Rory’s biggest passions were disc golf and his chocolate Labradors. He also enjoyed biking, kayaking and cross-country skiing. Devils Lake was his special place.
A special shout out to Don’s Home Furniture, Blaine and Tina, for always treating Rory like family as an employee and during his critical time of need. To know life is to love many things. Rory had a blessed life and enjoyed traveling and doing many things with his family and friends. His legacy will be a disc golf course to be built in Winnequah Park, which he helped establish as a local pioneer of the sport. A memorial bench will be erected in memory of Rory and “Maddy his caddy” thanks to Don’s Furniture.
Rory is survived by his parents; stepfather, Scott Sprecher; stepmother, Bonnie Brockman; half-brother, Steve Topper and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Celebration of Rory’s Life will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, January 15, 2022 at The East Side Club, 3735 Monona Dr., Monona, WI.
