Obituary

Edward “Randy” Colona, age 69, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022, surrounded by his family at UW Hospital. He was born on February 23, 1952, to Thomas and Tommie (Freeman) Colona in Maryland. Randy spent his life in Charles County until he retired in 2007 and moved to Delaware where he married Debra Lovato on July 7, 2007. In 2017, Randy and Debbie moved to Wisconsin for all new adventures during retirement.

Randy was a big man with a tender heart to match, always ready to extend a helping hand. He was an avid fisherman and crabber. He loved cooking crabs for feasts with family and friends. Randy enjoyed pulling pranks and telling jokes, always looking to make others laugh. He was a Vietnam Veteran and a good man whose love for his family was monumental.

Randy is survived by his wife Debbie; daughters, Kimberly (Brad) Taylor, Krista (Charles) Payne, Cassi (Tim) Levett; grandchildren, Austin, Kaylee, Ben, Natalie, Ashlyn, Jackson, and his “peanut” Lorelai; sister, Wendy (Doug) Cheek; brothers, Tommy (Patti) Colona, David (Tina) Colona, Jody (Amy) Colona; and numerous friends in Maryland, Delaware, and Wisconsin.

A Celebration of Randy's Life will be held at 1:30 P.M on April 24, 2022, at The Verona American Legion, 207 Legion St, Verona, WI. Doors will open for the visitations at 1:00 P.M., Military Honors will be held at 2:00 P.M. with lunch to follow until 4:00 P.M.

Randy and I Joe Moose go a way back when we hung together in Indian Head Md. We were always hanging out getting into trouble some where. We had some great times together he was a great guy and friend we went hunting and fishing together and got me in trouble with my girl friend Nancy who is my wife of 50 yrs. Randy may you rest in piece buddy you will be missed and was a member of the Ripley club in the 70"s. Joe & Nancy Moose

This conjures up so many fun memories! Those were the days; we didn't realize what wonderful memories we were making.

I always loved seeing his big smile that would light up a room and those twinkling eyes. He was a gentle giant to me. One of my fondest memories was him taking us out for a seafood dinner which was actually a huge table covered with paper and a mountain of crabs. He stood there and smiled saying dig in this is round one! Now every time someone says lets go for a seafood dinner I remember that precious memory.

Randy and I became Friends in our teens in Maryland. Sister, Wendy, and I were best buddies in those days. As we all got married and moved on, we lost touch for quite some time. I still treasure those memories we made in our teens. Maybe Randy rest in eternal peace. I hope they have fishing and crabbing in heaven so he can continue to catch bigger ones. ️️
