Obituary

Waterloo – Cindy Jo Wiedenbeck, age 65, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Prairie Ridge Hospital in Columbus. She was born on January 12, 1957 in Madison, WI, the daughter of Barbara Jean and James Frank Carter. She worked for Central Wisconsin Center for many years, but also enjoyed all of her years of waitressing. In her younger years, Cindy was a catcher for a fast pitch softball team. She loved scratch-offs, shopping at Kirkland’s and Steins, with her sister, Debbie. Her sister, Nancy loved taking Cindy to her favorite place, the Casino. Cindy loved her whole family dearly. She also loved a good Bloody Mary! She is survived by her children: Amy Gilbertson and Tim Wiedenbeck; six grandchildren, Maryah, Kalob, Kayden, Bree, Kaylee, and Ava; her life partner, Dean Zubke; siblings, Gary, Debbie and Nancy; and many nieces, nephews, other beloved family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. The family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses at Prairie Ridge Health Hospital for the care they gave Cindy in her last days. I really can't say enough about my mom. I could probably write a book. She was the greatest mom anyone could ask for. Definitely the strongest, most beautiful and amazing woman I've ever met. I love you mom

The last five years that I took care of my sister my goal was to put a smile on her face or a good laugh. I was fortunate to succeed sometimes doing both. I would bake her favorite cherry pie or make cookies for her. I miss my best friend and sister dearly. Love Deb

Sister Cindy was a friend to everyone. She loved socializing especially at the bar after her softball games. Those were great times. When she worked at the restaurant she loved the customers and would talk about them all the time. Tim and Amy were always her top priority no matter what life threw at her and it threw a lot at her. Whatever life threw at her she took in stride. She was very proud of all her grandchildren and they gave her such joy. I live in Florida but we talked several times a week. When I did visit I always took her to the casino and out to lunch with a bloodymary when she felt good. Her boyfriend Dean was always there for her. She missed our parents deeply and now she is with them and my son Jamie and finally at peace. I will miss her every day but I will be there for her kids when they need me.

My wife, Jammie, worked with Cindy at CWC and they were good friends. She had a great personality with a hefty dose of attitude and always fun to be with. Please accept our sincere condolences. If possible, please let us know when and where her COL will be.

Cindy was a good friend. I was her coach and she was my catcher when we played for Busses. What a great time we had both on and off the field and a great catcher. She was boss behind the plate and was respected. I hadn't talked to her in years when she moved out of the Madison area but I never forgot the fun we had. Hi Cindy's celebration of life is Aug 20 at 2pm at Rudes Lanes in Deforest. I remember you Bomber!! I know Jammie too Chuck. My mom loved all of you. I love and miss you mom. I can't believe your gone. Never ever forgotten!!!
