Madison – Lee Frederick Refling, age 58, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 in Madison, WI. He was born on October 5, 1963 in Elkhorn, WI to parents Jack and Nancy (Hinman) Refling. Lee lived a full life at Central Wisconsin Center. He enjoyed all of the attention he got from the staff who treated him just like family. Lee was a huge fan of the Wisconsin Badgers, Green Bay Packers and the biggest fan of Shark Week. Lee is survived by brothers Jack Refling (Linda), David Refling (Sue Liden), Jay Refling (Bonnie), nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Gary Refling. Lee was one of the most delightful human beings on the face of the planet. I so looked forward to introducing our new RCTs to him and working with him. His wonderful smile, blowing kisses, and laughter when we "threatened" him with being thrown in the shark tank would brighten any day. It was a gift to know you, Lee!

I truly hope you know how very much you were loved and how much you meant to all of us. You made a dark day brighter and a good day even better just by your smile or the way you talked with your eyes. I'm not sure when the tears will stop, your leaving has left an emptiness that can never be filled. Thank you for making us smile and making work seem worthwhile when honestly, if it wasn't for you wonderful residents, it just wouldn't be. Watching Badger basketball won't be the same this year without you but promise me that you'll still cheer them on! You will always have a very special place in my heart Lee. Take care of Jason and A.J. and all of our other friends who have left us and keep each other safe. Love you Lee-thank you for letting us be in your life!

Oh Lee Lee, I hope you never doubted for a single second how loved you were here on this earth. Your ability to brighten anyone's day was unmatched. How I miss your sweet smile, kisses, and your occasional pouty face. Your Celebration of Life was simply beautiful today. I hope you were smiling down at all of the music, readings, shark/sports decorations and apparel and treats, and all of the people there that loved you so much. It was so evident how greatly you impacted everyone you crossed paths with. We'll miss you forever, Lee. I feel so blessed to have known you. Fly high handsome
