Obituary
Madison - James W. Ward quietly passed away on August 19, 2022. He was born on March 30, 1931 to Glenn and Estelle Ward. He is preceded in death by his wife Dolores, son Gary and brother Tom. He is survived by daughter Kathy (Bill), son Jeff, brother Pat, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Jim attended UW Madison, majoring in physical education, and then was drafted into the Army. He fought honorably in the Korean War. Upon returning to Madison, he completed a heating and cooling apprenticeship. He worked as a steamfitter for many years. A loyal union member, he later became the Business Agent for the Steamfitters Local 394, and was active in the AFL-CIO.
After retiring, Jim enjoyed spending time with his wonderful friends on and off the golf course, as well as caring for his many dogs.
He will be sadly missed.
The family would like to thank the amazing nurses at SSM 8th floor SW, for their compassion and help-especially Sam and Olivia. Dr. Eric Sink’s kindness will not be forgotten.
