Mark Dittmer

Mark Dittmer, age 61, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg from complications of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Mark was born on April 5, 1961, in Madison, WI. His family would like to thank all the staff at Agrace for their care of Mark during the last weeks of his life. Mark is remembered for his passion, sometimes bordering on the extreme, in all areas of his life. An avid musician, Mark performed as a talented guitarist in several bands. He loved attending concerts, going fishing, biking, watching the Packers, doing crossword puzzles, keeping up with progressive politics, helping people with painting projects with an immense attention to detail, and provoking arguments online––even earning himself bans on social media sites. As family and friends understand, Mark struggled against physical and mental illnesses throughout much of his life. This informed his perspective on all things. He had a dry, sarcastic sense of humor with a “been there, done that” attitude. Mark was wicked smart and funny. He was quick to come up with zingers, which were then followed by his crooked smile and boisterous laugh. Mark is survived by his sister, Kelly Mullins (Brad); brother, Mike Dittmer; aunt, Mary Ann Kelly (Schocker); nieces and nephews Kelsey, Brennan, Cameron, and Karleigh Mullins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margery K Dittmer (Schocker). A private burial will be held at the Natural Path Sanctuary in Verona. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Villa Tap on 2302 Packers Ave, Madison on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
