I am so sorry to hear this. I worked with Carol at Marine Bank 1979, 1980 in downtown Madison. He was always fun to work with. We spent happy times walking together at several parades with Carl dressed as Wally Walrus. He later attended the Bank reunion at my house. I tried to upload a few photos but I can't see that they posted. My condolences to his family.

I went to East high with Carl and in one class a bully was picking on him from the desk behind him . Carl turned around and punched him in the head. I always admired him for that because this bully picked on a lot of people including myself. The bully was so surprised that someone stood up to him, he never picked on Carl again. He was a good person.

I had the good fortune to work with Carl for years at the University of Wisconsin. I was always impressed by his keen intelligence and good humor. Carl was a valued colleague and will be greatly missed. My deepest condolences to Carl's family and friends. - Gareth Green
