Obituary
Lois Kibbe,95 of Madison, WI passed away on Monday December 5th, 2022, at Four Winds Manor Verona, WI.
Born April 30th, 1927, in Ketchikan, Alaska to James and Helen Walley, she spent part of her childhood in AK and MN before settling in WI.
Lois graduated from Shorewood High School. And received her Nursing degree from University of Michigan.
On January 28th, 1950, she married Jack Kibbe, together they raised 4 children. Jack preceded her in death on January 11th ,1996.
Born with a love of travel, and always up for an adventure. She enjoyed many adventures with SAS (sports for active seniors) golfing, biking, hiking, canoeing, cross country and downhill skiing and camping well into her 80’s. She enjoyed her many travels around the world. She especially looked forward to her yearly family visits with John &Vivian at their vacation home on Rock Creek, Missoula, MT and the many friends she made there. As well as her many ski trips with all the Grandchildren.
Lois is survived by children, Nancy Kibbe Verona, WI, John (Vivian) Kibbe Yuma, AZ, James (Susan) Kibbe Fort Atkinson, WI, Daniel Kibbe Madison, WI.; Grandchildren, Jessica Kibbe, Laura (Luke)Emrick, Carly Kibbe, Drew (Gwyn) Kibbe, Ryan (Rachel) Kibbe; Great Grandchildren Mason, Ellison, Nova, Lyra and Bennett; Sister-in-law Rosemary Kibbe, and many nieces and nephews who were dear to her.
Lois was preceded in death by sisters Merll Korndoerfer and Janet Nelson, Grandsons Nathan and Remington Kibbe.
We would like to extend our gratitude to the caring staff at Four Winds Manor and Agrace Hospice for the wonderful care they provided Mom. We also would like to thank the staff at Oakwood Village University Woods where Mom lived independently for 5 years allowing her to keep active and involved in all her favorite things.
Never one to turn down a cocktail, to honor her memory we ask you to grab your favorite beverage and raise a toast to Lois!
