Obituary
Madison – Karen S. Rogers, age 66, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022. She was born on August 31, 1956 in Madison, the daughter of Edwin E. Alexander and Catherine "Katie" Balsamo Meyer. Karen graduated from Madison West High School in 1974. She was united in marriage to Richard J. Rogers on May 14, 1977 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Madison.
Karen worked over 30 years for MSCR sports programs. She also worked at Dunham Express and Ryan Brother’s Ambulance as a dispatcher. Karen loved to travel for her son Thomas’ bowling tournaments. She also loved going to the movies with her son Jason. Karen especially enjoyed time with her family as well as watching stock car races and other sporting events. Shopping trips and garage sales were also some of her favorite pastimes.
Karen is survived by her sons, Thomas (Julie) Rogers and Jason (Marie Argall) Rogers; step-grandchildren, Lucas and Emily; brothers, Ron Alexander and Rick Alexander; sisters-in-law, Judy Triggs and Jean Rogers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her parents; stepfather, Arthur Meyer; brother-in-law, Michael Triggs; her nephew, Jonathon Alexander; cousin, Joseph Balsamo; aunt, Pauline Balsamo and her mother-in-law and father-in-law.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, December 26, 2022, at Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 N. Sherman Avenue. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Jean Rogers for her companionship and assistance in Karen’s last years.
