Obituary
Loretta A. Tucker, age 83 of Waunakee, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2022. Loretta was born in Plymouth, WI on July 18, 1939 to Dorothy (Templin) & Thomas Cudworth. She grew up on a farm just outside of Greenbush, WI and excelled in school. After graduating high school, she attended Lakeland College and was ready to pursue her career in a larger venue.
After venturing out to the big city of Madison, Loretta met the love of her life & future husband, Charlie at the First Wisconsin Bank (now US Bank). She went onto a long career, as a pension administrator with John Zimdars & Company & later “retired” into her new role as the office manager at Thal Acres Golf Course & finished up her working career as the town treasurer in Westfield. In her spare time, she was a dedicated “Team Mom”, and would end up starting, managing, and at times coaching the Westfield Legion Baseball Team beginning in 1988. Now residing in Heaven, Loretta already sits on 3 different committees and has been voted in as the new Treasurer of Heaven shortly after her arrival (all write in votes).
Loretta is survived by her daughter, Deah (Todd) Mulhern, Waunakee, son, Denny Tucker, Westfield, her very special twin granddaughters, Kelsea Mulhern & Maggie Mulhern (Holden Pratt), sister, Gail (Jim) Kapellen, brother, Gary (Judy) Cudworth, and many other relatives and friends. Loretta was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Charles, parents, Tom & Dorothy, mother & father-in-law, Ida Mae & Charles, Sr.
Loretta’s greatest joys in her life were spending time with her family, many years of enjoying life on Lawrence Lake, fishing, snowmobiling, playing cards, and their many dogs over the years. She was also an avid sports fan, specifically a Packer, Badger & Brewer fan, but in her heart, she was a true Cub fan forever. The Cub World Series Championship in 2016 was a dream come true for her.
Loretta will be remembered for her kind heart, love of talking and teaching, superb work ethic, old fashioned morals, and respect for people.
We would like to thank the staff at Sienna Crest Assisted Living of Waunakee & Agrace HospiceCare for the great care & comfort they gave to Loretta. They are true angels on earth. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in to Agrace HospiceCare.
A celebration of Lorretta’s life will be held at The Village Inn in Westfield, WI on January 15, 2023 from 1-4.
