Obituary
Madison / La Crosse - Marjorie “Marge” Mae Mussman, age 91, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 6, 1932, to Leo and Lucille (Maxwell) Schmitz in Bear Valley, WI. Marge married James Mussman on July 4, 1953, at St. Mary’s Church in Richland Center, WI. She graduated from Edgewood Highschool, completed beauty school, and worked as a beautician before ultimately becoming a proud housewife and homemaker.
Marge stayed active and over the years, her favorite activities included bird watching, dancing, bowling, RV camping with friends and the occasional trip “up the road” to play the slots. She had a passion for cooking, baking and loved holiday entertaining. Marge adored her grandchildren; they meant the world to her. She was also strong and generous in her Catholic Faith. Marge always looked forward to traveling and went to many countries including Ireland, China, Spain, Costa Rica, Columbia, and Italy, which included Rome.
Marge is survived by her children, Vicky (William) Moeser, James (Kristine) Mussman, David Mussman, Barbara Mussman, Susan (Lance) Frautschi; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 siblings and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband; son, Robert Charles; 4 sisters; 2 brothers and parents.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 602 Everglade Dr, Madison, WI. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service at church. Interment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
The family would especially like to thank the Gundersen Health Hospice Care Center in La Crosse for their loving care of Marge.
