Madison – Sharon Marie O’Neill, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Mercy Health System in Janesville. Sharon was born on October 31, 1939 to Vincent and Della (Viney) O’Neill in Madison, WI. Sharon was employed by the Physical Plant at the University of Wisconsin for 23 years, retiring in 2002. Sharon is survived by her children, Daniel (Colleen) Peterson, Timothy (Cathy) Peterson, Denise (Dennis) Muth and Pamela Peterson; seven grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Patricia Francois, Joanne Hill and Bruce O’Neill. Services will be held at Resurrection Cemetery Chapel on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 12:30pm. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Sorry for your loss of Sharon. Sharon was my first love while in Central HighSchool, 10 th grade. Thought of her often over the years. Used to come to her home on Coby Street many times when we were teenagers and the Franklin ice skating rink where we met. beautiful girl! God bless. Ken wigdal

We only knew Sharon for 2 years (at Cherokee) but quickly realized that she was a amazing person filled with love for her children, compassion for others, and an appreciation for all that she had. Our world is a little dimmer now that she's gone. RIP Sharon
