A few thoughts! For me it started with Lyle at the Manor during College Days. Dave wanted to be an engineer like his famous dad. Sometime later on (maybe during expert witness years he went to law school). He was always hard working and smart. He did not like the cheating that auto companies were doing. So, he set his mind to get their phony tests. I lost track of him until he joined Axley. We often talked about cases. Once he started to have some memory issues, I assigned a top legal assistant to help. In fact, in one of Buck's cases he did excellent work. He knew the law and engineering. His office was next to mine. He loved to explain the evidence in cases he was working on. It was sad to see him have more and more memory issues. But I will always remember that honest guy, fought for the needed, thought to a fault, and never let a client down. He had good ideas and helped me. To me I will always know the honest, caring and hard working Atty/Engineer and great family man. He liked the law, but fling was his passion was flying. Atty Mitby

I had the good fortune to learn about the practice of law at Axley Brynelson years ago. In that time, the kindness, leadership and support from David Easton made a huge difference. He was calm, precise and competent. He was a genuinely good man and a great lawyer.

The happiness of those times we we will carry with us always. David forever (and with great fondness) will remain in our hearts... We embrace all of you during these most difficult times... I wish my vocabulary was large enough to describe how I feel about Dave (Col. Easton). In my 23 1/2 years of military service (6 in the Navy as enlisted, and18 1/2 in the WI Army Guard, as a commissioned officer/pilot) he was always a perfect example of what a leader should be. In the 16 years we served together, rising through the rank structure, me always a grade or two under David. He was not only my boss, and a mentor, but he was also my friend. After my commissioning, one of my first assignments was as an assistant platoon leader, under David. From that point on, he took me under his wing for the rest of my career. I learned more about the finer points of being a leader from him, than I did from any other officer I ever served with. No matter how stressful the situation, he was always cool, collected and thoughtful, never rushing into any decision, and always getting input from everyone. His impact on me has been lifelong. He showed me how to be a good officer, a better pilot, and a great friend. One of the finest men I have ever known. I'm sure he has now earned his forever wings!! He will be missed.
