Obituary
Leonard (Lenny) Hoffman, 71, passed away on Monday, March 6th, 2023, at UW Hospital. He was born on July 4th, 1951, in Madison Wisconsin to Philip and Irene Hoffman.
Lenny is survived by his wife of 40 years, Gail, his 5 children Jonathon, Margaret (Randy), Paul (Chelsea), Benjamin (Amanda) and Stephanie, 9 grandchildren Cullen, Grace, Madison, Amberlynn, Matthew, Mordecai, Caleb, Obadiah and Josiah and siblings Kathy, Joany, Kenny, and Linda. He was preceded in death by his father Philip, mother Irene and brother James.
When Lenny was not working at Garver or Cuna Mutual, you could have found him outside playing with his kids, grandkids or helping with Boy Scouts. Some of his favorite things to do were fishing, camping, cooking over any fire, or tinkering on vehicles. This included renovating a 66 passenger school bus into ‘The Big Blue Monster’ RV and coordinating the Boy Scout’s Klondike Derby and building derby cars with his sons. He loved helping at and then leading the concession stand at Edgewood High School sporting events.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Dennis Catholic Church on Monday, March 13th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., with Father Randy Timmerman officiating. A visitation will precede the funeral on March 13th starting at 9:00 am. A private burial will be held at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
As the Knights of Columbus was a big part of his life, not as just a member but also as a volunteer, the family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Knights of Columbus Council #4586 and can be send to 1742 Heath Ave, Madison 53704.
