Sun Prairie – Elaine C. “Snooks” Bostad, 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 24, 2023, at St. Mary’s Hospital from an extended illness.

She was born October 16, 1934, to Clarence and Bessie (McMurran) Bostad. Elaine attended Pumpkin Hollow Grade School and graduated from Sun Prairie High School. Elaine was a long-time resident of Marshall and worked for the State of Wisconsin for many years. She enjoyed gambling trips to the Casino, commonly referred to “retreats”.

Elaine is survived by her son Randy (Sue) Langer, daughter Denise Zemke, and son-in-law Ray Burbach. She is further survived by grandchildren Lindsey (Kevin) Ryan; Darren (Kristi Jungenberg) Langer; Justin (Kayla) Langer; Jenna Langer; Eric Zemke, Evan Zemke, Alex (Kendelle) Zemke; Kelsey Burbach; Carley Burbach; Chloe Burbach; Several great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Shirley Bostad and Kendra DePrey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Sue Burbach; son Michael Langer; sister Betty (Willard) Gerbitz; brother LaVerne (Carol) Bostad; and brother Marshall Bostad.

Elaine was a spunky, fun-loving person. She had knowledge and advice for all with her many “one liners”. Elaine will be missed by everyone who knew her.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I got to know her through LaVerne and Carol. We had several nice visits and lively phone conversations. She really loved her brothers! You are all in my thoughts and prayers, Nancy Barth Carol's "adopted" daughter 🙂

Elaine worked in the anatomy lab when I was a student hourly working there. She took me under her wing and kept me laughing. Grayson Scott and I had lots of adventures with Snooks. They are probably trading one liners right now. Linda (Scott) Uttech She was a keeper.
