Just learned of this (2024). She was a wonderful piano teacher (at Wellesley College where I was a professor) and a gentle and kind person. I admired her greatly and always felt I got many lessons in addition to that of the piano at each meeting. With much sadness, Judy Brown

I just learned of this with great sadness! Jean taught me classical piano at Wellesley in the late 80s. We then met for lunch for years. I was blessed with many jars of jam from beach plums harvested on the Vineyard from Jean and Bernard's many visits. I felt deeply cared for by Jean and am so sad I didn't get to say goodbye! She was a rare person and mother figure!šŸ˜°šŸ’”šŸ™šŸ»ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹āœØ

Jean was an extraordinary piano teacher, coach and all around wonderful person and friend. She was one of my most influential piano teachers when I was 10 to 14 years old studying at the Wellesley branch of the New England Conservatory. She then became a lifelong family friend. The last time I saw her was when she and her husband Bernie attended the 80th birthday party I threw for my mom in 2007 in Dover, MA. She and Bernie were very special people and I only regret that that I did not have the opportunity to see them after they moved from the Boston area to Madison. I think of Jean with fondess very often. She will be sorely missed not only by the classical music community that she greatly enriched but by all those whose lives she touched.
