I'm so sorry to hear about Andy's passing and offer you my prayers for peace and comfort during what must be such a difficult time for you. You won't know me and Andy knew me only as "Joanne" the Thursday door person at Luke House. Andy was quiet, so I didn't know him well but his presence was something that I looked forward to. The things that I thought I knew about Andy: his eyes were gentle and spoke of compassion, he had an air of wisdom and insight about him, a soft and fleeting smile hinted that he found joy in small things and that he wished it would come more often. I had the great good fortune of Andy growing up on the block. As an adult, he would often come by and we always said 'hello' to each other. As a kid, we would talk about where the cool critters were on the block. I'm not at all surprised to know that he would faithfully move small animals and turtles out of the road. To Andy's family- We are so sorry for your loss. Andy worked alongside Nathan Beecher and did a lot of renovation work on our house over the past two years. We admired his patient attitude and calm demeanor. We never saw him flustered even when things were unexpected in an old house. He was always friendly and especially sweet with our dog.
