Obituary
Madison – Robert J. Philumalee, age 71, passed away after a long courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, August 22nd, 2023.
Rob was born on December 19, 1951, in Janesville, Wisconsin to David and Mary Philumalee. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy until 1973 and remained in the Naval Reserve until 1982.
Rob worked for the State of Wisconsin for over 25 years and was proud of what he did. He was an avid reader and crossword enthusiast, but his children and family always remained most important to him.
He is survived by his 3 children Steven (Jaime) Harris, Joel (Jessica) Harris, and Bethany Lowe; 8 grandchildren Bri (Danielle), Alex, Matthew (Lydia), Alyssa, Michael, Sierra (Sean), Natasha, and Mia; 4 great grandchildren Alexander, Myles, Elijah, and Harleen. He was preceded in death by his 2 children Karyn and Bob; 2 brothers, a nephew, and a great niece he loved very much.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 N. Sherman Ave, Madison, with Fr. Gary Krahenbuhl officiating. A visitation will be held on Saturday at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
