Obituary
Verona – Samuel Jack Hoffman, age 87, beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born on June 25, 1936 in Fitchburg, WI to parents Alfred and Dora (Roeli) Hoffman. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. Samuel married Judith Ann Batker on October 18, 1956 and they celebrated 47 years of marriage before Judith’s passing in 2003.
Sam is survived by his five children: sons, David (Margaret) Hoffman, Bradley (Sue) Hoffman, Larry Hoffman; daughters, Laurene Hoffman and Jaki (Scott) Kalscheur; grandchildren, Steven (Katie) Hoffman, James Kalscheur, Lauren Kalscheur, Faith (Spencer) Compton, April Morris, TJ (Bri) Morris; great grandchildren, Rebeka Kalscheur, Theodore Kalscheur, Jaxon Gilbert, Adelyn Gilbert, Kaiden Schoenemann, Autumn Schoenemann, Waylon Murry, Westly Murry, and Samuel Hoffman; sisters, Margaret Daniels, Heidi (Marv) Milleville, Helene Alexander, Jean Mueller; brother, Dan Hoffman; brother-in-law, Ron Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Hoffman; parents, Alfred and Dora Hoffman; siblings, Gloria Kreisler, Paul Hoffman, Rose Johnson; brothers-in-law, Randy Kreisler and Glenn Mueller; nephews, Justin Hoffman and Donovan Hoffman.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 29, 2023 at St. James Lutheran Church, 427 South Main St., Verona, WI, with Rev. Dr. Kurt. M. Billings officiating. A Visitation will take place at the church one hour prior to the service, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at Verona Cemetery.
