Obituary

Madison – Loran M. Mezera, age 72, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023, at UW Hospital. He was born on May 7, 1951, in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin to George and Lillian (Farrell) Mezera. In 1976, he was united in marriage to Kaye Faust in Madison, Wisconsin.

Loran graduated from Madison East High School in 1970. He was drafted in 1970 and served until January 1973. He was then employed by the Wisconsin National Guard until he retired in 2001 as a technician at OMS9. Loran was then employed at the University of Wisconsin food services until 2013 when he retired. Loran then enjoyed his retirement tinkering on his hot rod.

Loran is survived by his wife Kaye; sons Michael (Silvie) and Matthew (Trista); four of the most beautiful grandchildren Everly, Oliver, Everett, Eoin who will miss their papa. Loran is also survived by two sisters Maureen (Patrick) Kennedy and Delores Jones; mother-in-law Joyce Faust; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Loran was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law Robert Faust; and brother-in-law Douglas Jones.

A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, October 16, 2023, at Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
