Obituary
DEFOREST/DEKORRA TOWNSHIP – James Allan “Buck” Nehls, age 75, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023. Jim was born on December 17, 1947 in Portage, WI to Robert and Janet (Stewart) Nehls. He grew up in Dekorra Township and graduated from Poynette High School in 1966. Jim married Linda Wanninger, on August 20, 1988, in Portage, WI. He retired from career in environmental engineering and consulting after 45 years. Jim stayed close to his childhood friends and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards with them (The ODBHA). He also enjoyed cooking, making food for his friends, family, and Deer Camp, and cheering on his children in sports and their endeavors. We will always remember his sense of humor and unique personality.
Jim is survived by his wife of 35 years, Linda; children, Steven (Melissa) and Karly (Taylor) Frampton; grandchildren, Thomas and Jack Frampton; brother, Robert; sister-in-law, Annette; and brothers-in-law, Mike (Denise) Wanninger and John (Lori) Wanninger. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He is preceded in death by siblings, infant Beth, and Stewart; brother-in-law, Mark Wanninger; and sister-in-law, Lynette.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 6924 Lake Road, DeForest.
