Obituary
Madison - Korlin “Corky” I. Wunderlin, age 72, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023, at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg, WI. He was born on December 19, 1950, to Francis and Cecelia (Berka) Wunderlin in Lancaster, WI. He married Jane Williams on August 16, 1975, at Olbrich Botanical Gardens and then joined Corky in a Catholic marriage at Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1979.
Corky was an avid Wisconsin Badgers fan and season ticket holder to Badger football, hockey, and basketball. He loved going to all his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. In Corky’s free time you would find him fishing, hunting, playing euchre, cribbage, going to stock car races and family camping trips in Phillips, WI. He was a big BS-er. Corky would set his alarm clock to get up in time to watch Pink Panther and Andy Griffith.
Corky is survived by his wife, Jane Wunderlin; children, Michelle (Bill) Degenhardt, Kim (Eddie Day) Wunderlin, Cory Wunderlin, Chris (Echo Wickline) Wunderlin, Kayla (Rigo) Ramon; 16 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 2 sisters-in-law; 9 siblings and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Corky is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Nick Bierman and mother-in-law, Virginia Williams.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 1, 2023 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2450 Atwood Avenue, Madison, WI. A visitation will take place two hours prior to the Mass, from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., Friday at the church.
Family would like to thank St. Mary's hospital staff in 2E ICU and 7SW, including Dr. Doug Hobson and Dr. Stuart Turner, along with Agrace inpatient staff for their care of Corky.
