Madison - Peter Mathew Friedland, 62, of Madison, WI, passed away on November 22, 2023.
He was born on August 14, 1961, in Madison to parents Kathy Morrow and “Pete” Vernon (Cathy) Friedland. Peter was a loving husband to Sherri Friedland, and a proud father to his son, Clayton (Jodi) Friedland. He adored his grandchildren, Emily and Owen Friedland.
Peter had a deep passion for the outdoors and cherished spending time with his dogs. He found solace and joy in fishing, and his skill and dedication earned him the world’s tiger trout record, a feat he held proudly for many years. He also took pleasure in cheering for the Badgers and the Packers, showing his unwavering support for his favorite sports teams.
Peter was a graduate of Sun Prairie High School, where he laid the foundation for his lifelong love of learning and personal growth. He valued education and encouraged others to pursue their dreams.
In addition to his immediate family, Peter is survived by his sisters: Gale Knight, Mary (Pete) Parker, and Maurice Friedland (Mari); and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Ben; nephew, Dylan; grandparents; and other relatives.
A Memorial Celebration will be held from 10:00am until 12:00pm on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N Sherman Ave, Madison.
