DeForest - Larry “Hank” David Schultz, 73, passed away after a brief illness on November 27, 2023, at UW Hospital. He was born on July 8, 1950, in Tomah, Wisconsin to parents Robert and Lucille (Burrows) Schultz. Larry married Susan C. Schroeder in Madison WI on March 8, 1975.

Larry was a fix-it guy with a beautiful soul. The thoughtfulness he put into everything was appreciated by so many. He could make you laugh with one word and had a quick wit. Along with his wife, he enjoyed friendship and adventures with the neighbors and camping at the family farm. And to his daughter, he was the entire world. He loved nothing more than hugs from his grandkids. He was adored by so many and truly one-of-a-kind.

Larry is survived by his wife of 48 years Susan (Schroeder) Schultz, daughter Mandi (Chad) Hultman of Green Bay; grandchildren Chelsea and Charlie; siblings Nancy (Tom) Bowers, Ron (Debbie) Schultz, Judy (Bill) Hippe, Jenny Schultz, Wendy (Mark) Buchanan, Tina (Kevin) Harper; brother-in-law, Stephen Schroeder and sister-in-law, Debbie (Steve) Breunig. He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Philip and Katherine Schroeder and brothers Curt and David Schultz.

Larry will be cremated and buried at Crystal Lake Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held in Saturday, June 8th, 2024 from noon to 4:00 p.m. at DeForest Firemans Park - Community Room of the main shelter.

We'd look across the street and see Larry setting out chairs around the fire pit. There were no invites or elaborate plans. We'd come as we were and have the best time, sharing all that was going on in our worlds. Saying he will be missed seems insufficient but no words could be more true. Good bye my friend. Steve Hollis
