Madison – Judith Ann “Judy” Johnson, age 76, passed away peacefully on the morning of December 24, 2023. She was born on October 3, 1947 in Madison, WI to parents Floyd and Frances (Davis) Frydenlund.
Judy was a 1965 graduate of Waunakee High School. On December 17, 1994, she was united in marriage to Duane Johnson at their home with close family in attendance. Judy loved spending time with her family and cherished the Christmas Eve celebrations she and Dewey hosted in their home as well as the backyard pool parties that preceded the annual Rhythm & Booms fireworks every summer. She was a dedicated Wisconsin sports fan; tirelessly rooting for the Packers, Badgers, Brewers, and Bucks. She also enjoyed playing solitaire and pull tabs.
Judy will be dearly missed and is now reunited with her beloved dogs and dancing partners, Sophie and Thelma.
Judy is survived by her husband, Duane Johnson; children, Tanya Smythe, Jenny (Bryan) Gorawski, Ty (Kelli) Smythe, Courtney (Jamie) Metz, Korie (Becky) Huskey; grandchildren, Zachary Berry, Jacob Corbin, Ally, Lauren and Ashlyn Smythe, Isaac and Zane Metz, Ryan, Alex and Kate Huskey; siblings, Jerry Frydenlund, Tom Frydenlund, Pat Frydenlund, Pam Frydenlund, Debbie Good, Cheryl Frydenlund, Angie Leatherberry. She is further survived by her good friend, Darlene Harms, as well as other loving family and friends. Judy was preceded in death by her parents.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, WI. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Madison.
