Obituary
Verona- Elisabeth “Lis” A. Fjelstad, age 84, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024, at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg, WI. She was born on April 24, 1939, to Frederick and Anna (Daniels) Wenger in Madison, WI. Lis married Wally Pankonin on April 24, 1996, in Verona, WI.
Lis loved to travel the world which led her to learn Spanish as an adult. She enjoyed taking pictures on all her trips, was an avid reader, who also enjoyed collecting books and enjoyed listening to music. In Lis free time, you would find her quilting, she was also part of the Women’s Guild and president of Council at Salem United Church of Christ in Verona.
Elisabeth is survived by her husband; granddaughter, Lisa Bakken; brother, Frederick Wenger and other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Preceded in death by her daughter, Terry Bakken; parents and sister, Etta Klais.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Salem United Church of Christ, 502 Mark Dr, Verona, WI. Visitation will take place from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at church.
