Obituary
MADISON – Alice Irene LaBarro, age 84, passed away in Sun Prairie, WI, peacefully on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024, after a brief illness. She was born on October 20, 1939 in Richland County, WI to parents, Donald and Irene (Canaan) Rice. Alice graduated in 1958 from Webb High School in Reedsburg, WI. She married Peter John LaBarro on June 1, 1963. Together they enjoyed traveling, spending time with their card club and vacationing up north in Bayfield County. Alice also loved nature and being outdoors. She worked for the State of Wisconsin as an Aide to the Governor. She was also a great sewer and very handy at fixing things around her home.
Alice is survived by two daughters, Deanna (Fred) Beck and Sheryl (Bob) Renz; two granddaughters, Alexa and Alyssa Renz; brothers and sisters, Donald (Tina) Rice, Jim (Marge) Rice, Kenneth (Rita) Rice, Conrad (Sue) Rice, Dennis Rice, David Rice, Beverly Sonnenberg, Karen (Bob) Lay, Deborah (Randy) Viner; brother-in-law, Roger Hanson.
She was preceded in death by her mother Irene, father Donald and stepmother Iris (White) Rice; husband Peter; sister, Kathy Hanson; and brother-in-law, Richard Sonnenberg.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Agrace Hospice Care as well as to the caring staff of Sun Prairie Senior Living.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, WI, with Fr. Gary Krahenbuhl officiating.
