Obituary
DeForest - Marilyn J. Otto, age 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at SSM Health Hospice House in Baraboo, WI. She was born on September 7, 1934, to Harold and Janet (Closs) Nielson in Cambria, WI. She married Walter Otto on October 30, 1954, and later raised five children.
Marilyn attended Cambria High School and then furthered her education at Madison School of business. She worked at Farm Bureau, Pumpkin Hollow school, Associated Bank, and with her husband, Walter at Token Creek Garage.
Marilyn enjoyed bowling, knitting, playing cards, feeding the trout across the street, and helping at Windsor United Church of Christ for many years. She also loved watching basketball, specifically Michael Jordan, and hosting taco parties for friends and neighbors.
You could always count on her for a call on your birthday and most of the time she would be singing Happy Birthday when you answered.
Marilyn is survived by her children, John (Sheila) Otto of Sun Prairie, Patricia (Don) McGraw of New Lisbon, Nancy (Pat) Newman, of DeForest, Judy (Matt) Brunn of Wisconsin Dells, Don (Rita) of Sun Prairie; grandchildren, Jarrett, Jannelle, Brianna, Tracy, Nicole, Shannon, Trae, Walter, Erich, Katelyn; great grandchildren, Geri, Addison, McCrae, Daelyn, Hollis, Hunter, Remi, Veronica, Blake, Colten, Maggie, Maverick, Kip, Owin, Jada; her beloved dog Cozmo and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; infant daughter; parents; sister, Betty; brother-in-law “Chub” and mother and father-in-law, Olive, and Walter.
A special thank you to all the staff at the SSM Hospice House for making mom comfortable.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Windsor United Church of Christ, 4434 2nd St, Windsor, WI. A visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at church on Monday, April 29, 2024, and then again on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at church. Interment will be held at Windsor Cemetery.
Memorial donations can be made to SSM Hospice House in Baraboo.

My deepest sympathy to the Otto on the passing of Marilyn. She was a dear neighbor of the Cooper family at Moss Oak Farms just up the road. Thinking of you at this sad time.
