Obituary

Carol Anna (Pitcel) Miller, age 94, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Parkside Village in DeForest. She was born on July 27, 1929, to Charles and Nettie (Benson) Pitcel in Necedah, WI. Carol married Sidney Miller on August 20,1949 in Morrisonville, WI.

Carol was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. Her church and faith were very important to her. Carol lived her entire adult life in DeForest and was very involved in the community. She was an avid sheepshead player, took up golfing later in life and was still bowling into her 80’s.

Carol is survived by her children, Steve (Nancy) Miller, Sue Hoverson, Scott (Cathy Orourke) Miller; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Jan) Pitcel, Roger (Kathryn) Pitcel; sister-in- law Carole Pitcel; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Charles Pitcel; sister, Audrie Stockland and son-in-law, Pete Hoverson.

The family would like to especially thank the staff at Parkside of DeForest, Brighton Hospice and especially the fantastic friends and neighbors on South Street.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Christ Lutheran Church, 220 S Main St, DeForest, WI. Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at church. Interment will be held at Norway Grove Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made out to Christ Lutheran Church or Brighton Hospice.
