Wisconsin Dells – Lois Ann Berens, age 80, passed away peacefully in her home on June 2, 2024. She was born December 29, 1943 in Madison, WI to parents Wallace and Delilah (McKeown) Clement. Lois was a 1962 graduate of Madison East High School. During her career, she worked for thirty years as a typographic composer operator for the Madison Board of Education. Lois married Richard “Dick” Berens on September 6, 1995. Together they enjoyed wintering in Florida for many years. Lois was a loving wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister and friend. Throughout her life, she enjoyed playing golf, visiting the casino, and playing games with her grandchildren. She cherished spending time with her family.

Lois is survived by her husband, Richard “Dick” Berens; children, Jeff (Jami) Stewart, Vicky (Shane) Holden, and Jeff (Robin) Berens; brother, Jerry (Harlene) Clement; sister-in-law, Joan (Larry) Pedracine; grandchildren, Amanda Coltharp, Nathan Coltharp, Max (Carly) Holden, Joshua (Lizzie) Stewart, Brooke (Dillon) Martinez, Nicole (Tyler) Brown, Seth (Bri) Holden, Noah Stewart, Brett (Kaylah) Holden, Jonah Stewart, Ethan Berens, Mason Berens, and Grace Berens; great-grandchildren, Dane Clark, Bryce Clark, Ellie Stewart, Rory Stewart, Hazel Brown, Evelyn Stewart, Quill Brown, November Brown, Shepherd Brown, Barrett Holden, Clay Holden, Jace Holden, Rowan Martinez, and one on the way.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Eugene Clement; and her daughter, Dawn (Clifford) Coltharp.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Agrace Hospice for their exceptional care. Memorials may be made to Agrace Hospice.

A Memorial Service honoring the life of Lois Berens will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Ryan Funeral Home, 6924 Lake Rd., DeForest, WI. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Following services, burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens, 3054 County Road BB, Madison, WI.
