Theresa Standish

Theresa “Terry” Wolfe was born on the Menominee Indian Reservation in Keshena, Wis on Jan. 12th, 1947, eventually settling in Madison shortly after high school. Terry was very proud of her Native American heritage and had a special connection to the Moon. She married Clifford “Butch” Oscar in Madison who she tragically lost in 1971. When her girls were young, she started a daycare so she could be at home, which she wholeheartedly enjoyed. Those daycare kids, and families, became part of Terry’s family as did the neighborhood kids. On Feb 21st, 1983, she married Gary Standish in Las Vegas, NV. She and Gary enjoyed bowling, family vacations and spending time outdoors. Terry also enjoyed going to the movies, dining out, traveling the States with her husband and their many fishing trips to Canada, but she especially loved spending time with her family. Terry was a hard worker, rarely missing work. She retired from Cintas after 33 years and from Federal Mailing after 30 years. She very much enjoyed her co-workers and made many lasting friendships. Terry’s legacy is her commitment to family. She loved them beyond measure, and they loved her that much back. Terry was always kind and had the most loving heart. She was the heart of her family and will be forever loved and forever missed.

Terry is survived by her husband, Gary, her girls, Vickie Oscar, Sissy Haskins (Dugan), Tammy Oscar, stepchildren, Kim Standish DeVault (Steve), Mark Standish (Lisa), grandchildren, Cortney Hinz, Tyler Standish (Becky), Lucas Standish, Cassidy DeVault Gomez (Andres), Megan DeVault, Kailey and Nathan DeVault, Dalton Leggett, and great-grandson, Jaxon Devlin. She is also survived by brothers-in-law, Francis and Terry Standish, the Crawford family and many other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 29th, 2024 from 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm at Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 N Sherman Ave, Madison, Wis. Burial will be on Monday, July 1st at 2 pm at Highland Memory Gardens, 3054 Co Rd BB, Madison, Wis.
