Obituary

Madison – Patrick R. Kennedy, age 77, passed away on June 28, 2024, at Oak Park Nursing and Rehab. He was born on December 15, 1946, in Wausau, Wisconsin to parents Pete and Doris (Gorman) Kennedy.

Patrick married Sandra K. Markgraf on October 14, 1967, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Madison and they shared 57 years of marriage. He loved to hunt, putzing around in his garden, feeding the birds, squirrels, and the neighborhood turkeys. He enjoyed watching the badger’s hockey and football and was always happy about being a Packers season ticket holder and watching the games with his family. Pat loved his cats Gus and his favorite Maggie May. He worked as a meat manager for A& P Grocery Store and Kohl Foods.

Pat was survived by his wife Sandra; daughter Connie (Steve Ryan) Bushee; grand dog Dublin; brother Michael (Linda) Kennedy and Tim (Sherri) Kennedy; sisters-in-law Audrey, Karen, Marrianne (Lee), and Linda; brother-in-law Frank; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents, brother Jerry; in-laws Stanley and Eileen Markgraf; and son-in-law David Bushee.

A special thank you to Agrace Hospice and to the entire staff at Oak Park Place.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shelter from the Storm Animal Rescue.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 N. Sherman Ave.

Always loved Pat. Met him when I was 16 at Kohl's and were friends ever since. He would cut up deer for me in the old days and he would peek in and see if I was in the liquor store whenever he was at Woodman's sun prairie. I always made time to talk. He will be missed.
