Obituary
Madison- LaVerne C. Marcus passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 29,2024 at UW Hospital. She was born on June 21, 1935, in DePere, WI.
LeVerne is survived by her niece, Michelle Bowman of Green Bay and many wonderful friends.
To honor LaVerne’s wishes no services will be held. Entombment will take place at 12:00 P.M. on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Allouez Catholic Mausoleum in Green Bay, WI.

When I started working as a very green secretary at the State Capitol in 1971, La Verne was in the office next door. She became my mentor and guided me through many crises, both professional and personal. She had a great sense of style and helped me dress for success; she loved to shop and always looked her best. We had some crazy adventures too: leaving for lunch at the Lorraine Hotel at noon on Friday and not returning! She had such a great big laugh for such a tiny person and it was fun to bring out that laugh. I still remember two very wise sayings she shared with me for dealing with difficult bosses: Say "you're absolutely right" and "let me think about that"—and then do what you think and know is right! I'll remember La Verne fondly the rest of my life.
