Obituary
Morrisonville-
Jerald “Jerry” Thur, age 55, passed away peacefully at his home with his loving wife by his side on July 7, 2024. Jerry was born on January 31, 1969, in Madison, Wisconsin, the son of Catherine (Blaschka) and Raymond Thur. Jerry married the love of his life, Lisa (Nordness) on March 28, 1992. They later welcomed the light of their lives, their daughter, Kayla Nicole on May 6, 1993.
Jerry was full of life and enjoyed working hard and playing harder. He was an employee of Ray O Vac in Madison, before becoming a long-time employee of Pomp’s Tire in DeForest. While the work was physically demanding, he seemed like a kid in a large sandbox, always having fun. Jerry was the biggest Mopar fanatic. He loved going to car shows, vacationing with good friends, and riding the Harley whenever he could, making friends wherever he went. He was the most kind and loving father and husband in the world. He was the rock that everyone needs, always the optimistic one, always making many adventuristic plans for what was next.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Catherine and Raymond Thur, of Madison and his father-in-law, Robert Nordness of De Forest.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Lisa Thur, Morrisonville, his daughter Kayla (Matt) Twing of De Forest, his brother, James (Janel) Thur of Neillsville, his loving mother-in-law, Kristine Nordness of De Forest, his sisters-in-law, Laurel (Peter Klapperich) Nordness of Bristol, Karen Nordness of De Forest, a brother-in-law, Bobby Joe Nordness of De Forest, nephews, Kyle Geil, Jordan Thur, Austin Nordness, Ayden Jacobs, his nieces Jocelyn Thur, Kira Jacobs, Kaitlyn Jacobs, Jenna Jacobs, Brinley Nordness, and Naomi Nordness, his little dog, Lily Rose, his grand-puppy, Daisy May, along with a long list of his extended family and friends. Jerry gave in death as he did in life by making the ultimate gift of being an organ donor, and his donations will help over fifty people.
A celebration of life will be held at Ryan Funeral Home, Windsor/DeForest Chapel, 6924 Lake Rd, on Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 4pm-7pm.
