Obituary
Madison - The family of Debra L. Foster (Debbie) is saddened to announce her passing on the morning of August 10th, 2024 at the age of 65. Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully in her home located in Madison, Wisconsin.
Deb was born on January 4th, 1959 to Clarence (Skip) and Joyce Jacobson in Madison, WI. Deb was the sister to four brothers, Robert, Jeffery, Curtis, and Daniel. Deb retired from Madison Metro in 2022 after a long career that brought her a lot of enjoyment. Deb considered her coworkers as part of her family.
Deb was an avid animal lover and you could always find her in her recliner surrounded by her dogs. Over the years she had many pets, but everyone knows that Marley B was the favorite. Deb enjoyed watching The Young and the Restless or a Hallmark Christmas movie any day of the year. She would also spend time with friends playing bingo or going to thrift shops.
Throughout the years, Deb was the glue that held people together. She enjoyed spending time with everyone in her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to attend all of their sporting events and was always the loudest in the crowd. Deb always showed up and supported those that she cared about. Deb made sure to engrain the importance of family in her children, which has been passed down to their kids.
Deb was a mom to everyone she met, and took in anyone who needed to have a strong mother figure in their lives. She always left her door open and welcomed everyone in with open arms. Deb had an extensive chosen family that she raised like her own children, including Mikey, Dewayne, Deangelo and many more. She was also loved by many close friends that considered her family, especially Tracy Beck and Deb Simon, and countless others.
Debbie left behind her amazing children Stephanie Roll, Melissa Roll (Adam), LeeAnn Hewitt (Mike), Allen Jacobson (Amy), Justin Foster, Christian Foster (Maddie), and Lex Roll (Emma). She also left behind many grandchildren that she was beyond proud of, including Tori, Devon, Taylor, Carter, Linnea, Braydon, and Donovan. Additional family members, including nieces and nephews, will also miss her dearly.
Deb was preceded in death by her parents Joyce and Skip, brothers Robert and Daniel, sister Edy, cousin Rita, and chosen-family member Shanna.
A visitation will be held at Ryan Funeral Home (2418 N Sherman Ave, Madison, WI 53704) on Tuesday, August 13th at 4pm until 7pm. Deb will be put to rest at Roselawn Memorial Park in Monona at a private ceremony with her immediate family. A celebration of life will be held at a later date when determined by the family.
We would like to provide a special thank you to Crossroads Care Center, Fresenius Kidney Care and Eden Vista Assisted Living for the excellent care of Deb. An extra special thank you to Ryan’s Funeral Home for their compassion and support during this time.

I've tried over the past few days to think of words to say and I just can't. I'm speechless on the passing of my sister, Debbie. I'm grateful that she'll live on through her family, whoever and however they became her family. All that matters is they know just how much she loves them and will always support them. I'll miss her beautiful laughter and smile. Resting in Jesus arms and have eternal peace, Sister Debbie! Humbly, Andrea W.

I have so many fun memories with Debbie in our younger days. We were so lucky that our moms made sure all of the cousins spent a lot of time together. She was a wonderful person and even though I didn't see her a lot over our older years I will truly miss her❤️❤️

You were my neighbor my entire childhood, I spent most of my free time at your house or outside with the boys and Tori. You will be greatly and dearly missed ❤️
