Obituary
Gary Briscoe, age 80, of New Glarus, WI passed away on August 24, 2024 at the VA Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born on May 25, 1944 in Peoria, IL to parents Charles and Eva (Jones) Briscoe. Gary attended Richwoods High School in Peoria, IL. At age 19, he enlisted in the United States Navy, completed corps school at Great Lakes Corpsman School, and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan.
During his career, he worked in Sales, first, for Madison Truck Equipment, then, retiring after seventeen years from Monroe Truck Equipment. After retirement, he took pride in driving school bus in Verona, where he was fondly called “Mr. B” by the kids. Gary enjoyed spending time outdoors. When his two sons were younger, Gary was heavily involved in the Boy Scouts. He loved skiing, fishing, hunting, and atv adventures. Gary married Deborah Eder on October 6, 1979.
Gary is survived by his wife, Debbie Briscoe; sons, Michael Briscoe and Matthew Briscoe; grandchildren, Autumn, Caleb, Audrey, and Johan. He is further survived by his former wife, Janice Griswold.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother in infancy, Charles Herbert Briscoe.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jessica Becker, N.P. and the entire staff of the Community Living Center Hospice at the VA Hospital.

We are very sorry for your loss Debbie. We remember Gary as a member of our local 4 Lakes 4 Wheel Drive Club, and I remember him as our snow plow salesman at a business I owned. He truly was a great guy. Where did all these years go?
