Jacklyn Ann “Jackie” Fell, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Home Again Assisted Living in Cambridge. She was born on June 6, 1936, in Madison, the daughter of Gordon and Genevieve (Blankenheim) Culp. She was one of 7 siblings. Jackie graduated from Central High School in 1954. She was united in marriage to William “Bill” Fell on September 28, 1957, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Madison. Jackie worked for American Family Insurance for many years and also for Pleasant Company (American Girl) in her retirement. She was a longtime member of St. Peter Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Guild.
Jackie will be remembered for always helping family, friends and church members. She was a caregiver at heart, loving to help with her beloved grandchildren and attending many of their sporting events. Jackie was a den leader for her children’s Cub Scout and Girl Scout troops. She cared for her beloved dog, Blondie and her grand-dogs, especially, Maddie. Jackie cherished the many trips she was able to take with her daughter, Sue. She enjoyed many arts and crafts, especially taking pictures and painting ceramics. Jackie was also known for her cooking, baking and canning. Her family remembers fondly all of the delicious treats she made.
Jackie is survived by her children: Timothy (Tilda), William (Laura), Jennifer Fell and Sue (Mike) Westphal; grandchildren, Adam (Tara), Amy (Matt) Fink, Madeline (Nate) Smith, Jacob (Sarah Holst), Catlain, and Hanna Miller; great-grandchildren, Colton Fink, Kane Fink, Ava Fell, Ella Fell, Cameron Smith, and Lillian Smith; siblings, Maureen (George) Birkeland, Donna Culp, Audrey (Michael) Schwark, Joyce (Rick) Langer, and JoAnn (Michael) Youngman; sister-in-law, Alice “Cookie” Culp; as well as many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, William “Bill”; her parents; brother, Rohderick “Bum” Culp and many aunts and uncles.
A Mass of Christian burial be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2024, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 5001 N. Sherman Avenue, with Father Michael Resop officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass on Friday at the church. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank the staff at Home Again Assisted Living in Cambridge for the wonderful care they gave Jackie over the last years as well as the caring staff at Agrace Hospice.
