Obituary
Waunakee/Sun Prairie – Neil H. Buchner, age 66, passed away suddenly at his home on September 1, 2024. He was born on November 14, 1957, in Darlington, WI to parents, Warren and Donna (Hanson) Buchner. Neil graduated from DeForest High School in 1976. He married Jennifer M. Raemisch on August 16, 1986. Jennifer preceded him in death on July 25, 2020.
During his career, Neil worked for many years at Walgreens Distribution Center. He later worked for a courier service until his retirement. He enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life. He was an expert chair caner. He was mechanically inclined and could repair many things. He loved riding motorcycles. He earned the nickname, “One Wheel Neil” for his ability to do a mile-long wheelie. Neil was always musical. He taught himself to play guitar and was always strumming and singing funny songs. He loved spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and especially four-wheeling with his grandson. He was also a gardener and a great chef. He loved hosting and cooking for his family and friends. He had a big heart and was loving to his family, and cherished his grandkids, Warren and Presley.
Neil will be dearly missed and will always be remembered for his kind, generous, strong-willed spirit and his hilarious, fun, light-hearted personality.
Neil is survived by his daughters, Brittney Buchner (Alex) and Briona Buchner (Brian Kopmeyer); grandchildren, Warren and Presley; siblings, Charlene (Dr. Rex) Flygt, Alan (Linda) Buchner, Lyle (Laurie) Buchner; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bonnie Raemisch, Tim Raemisch, Mike (Darlene) Raemisch; many nieces and nephews and their families; and his special companion, his dog Star.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 9, 2024, at Ryan Funeral Home, 6924 Lake Rd., DeForest, WI. A visitation will take place two hours prior to the service, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Moravian Cemetery.
