Obituary
Madison – George Oliver Zimmerman, age 92, passed away on September 3, 2024, at his residence. He was born on July 7, 1932, in Wisconsin to parents Percy and Alice (Brereton) Zimmerman.
George was employed at Oscar Mayer for 33 years, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed traveling, deer hunting, farming, and telling stories.
George is survived by his wife of 40 years Mary; 3 children James (Laurie), Jon, and Michael; 2 granddaughters Sara and Tesha; and his brother Robert Zimmerman. He was preceded in death by his parents; son Douglas; and his brothers David and Albert and sisters Marion Peckham and Nancy Narajka.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 N Sherman Ave, Madison. A visitation will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.

Mary, I'm so grateful that you allowed me to come and see George when he got home. He was a great guy, so much fun and laughter. You two were made for each other. He will be missed by many. Hugs and love to you and the family.
