Sean Gullickson
January 09, 1968 - October 24, 2024
Obituary
Sean Richard Gullickson, 56, passed away unexpectedly in Madison, WI on October 24, 2024. Born on January 9, 1968, in Madison, WI, the son of Kathleen Rohr Dawson and Dan Gullickson.
Sean was a true north-sider and graduated from Madison East High School in 1986. Shortly after high school, he received his associate degree and became an ironworker. Sean was extremely proud to be an ironworker and it was very fitting for him due to his fearless nature. Sean married the love of his life, Kim Shannon, on August 4, 2001. In true Sean fashion, he skydived to the wedding ceremony.
Sean was an avid outdoorsman and shared his passion for all things hunting and fishing with his countless friends. Sean had an unconditional love for dogs and his dogs were his confidants. In recent years, Sean became a Grandpa to his six grandchildren who he loved dearly. He was always ready to take them on a crazy adventure and they loved his big kid energy. Sean was full of life, had the biggest heart, and was always willing to offer a helping hand. His passing has left a void that can never be filled.
Sean is survived by his wife, Kim; stepdaughters, Katie Shier, Abby (Paul) Gill, and Chelsea (Nick) George; his brother, Andy (Sara) Gullickson; nieces, Emma and Airelle Gullickson; nephew, Chace Glimme; his six grandchildren and many extended family. Sean was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen Rohr Dawson, and his father, Dan Gullickson.
A memorial visitation will be held at Ryan Funeral Home on Sherman Ave on Friday, November 1st, from 3:00- 5:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 5:00 p.m. A celebration of life will follow at The Willows Tavern, 5485 Willow Rd, Waunakee. A private burial will be held before.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Sean’s honor to his family.
