Obituary
Patti Fox-Anderson
03/02/1957 to 12/10/2024
Patti was raised in Madison, WI and attended Memorial High School and was a graduate of U.W. Madison. Patti was an athlete and a dancer. She won many track and field events at Memorial and state competitions. At the U.W. she graduated with a dance and physical education degree. During her short career Patti worked as a trainer for the Y.W.C.A. gym on the square. She prepared and tested all female police and fire department job applicants for physical fitness. At the age of 26 Patti suffered from kidney failure. During 41 years of dealing with this, Patti had many years of kidney dialysis and 3 kidney transplants. Her last transplant was one of the first transplants done where the blood type did not match.
Patti enjoyed cooking and inventing new recipes. If you wanted to make her happy all you had to do was give her cookbook. She never measured her spices and seasoning, but rather smelled the mix to decide to add more or not.
Patti grew up babysitting her nephew, Jamie King. She would turn on the music, start dancing and challenge Jamie to express himself with dance. Jamie eventually became a famous Hollywood dancer and choreographer. He thanked Patti for her influence, in his work out book titled ‘Rock your Body’.
Patti will be greatly missed by her husband Alan, son Ian and Gizmo the dog. She also survived by her siblings Robert Fox, Barry Fox, and Peter Fox.
She was preceded in passing by siblings Gary Fox, Terry Fox, Perry Fox and parents Robert and Erma Fox.
A Celebration of Patti’ s Life will be held 12:00 P.M. on Friday, January 17, 2025, at the Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 N. Sherman Ave. Madison, WI. The visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at noon.

Patti was THE best neighbor and friend ever! She was our daughter, Katie's second mama. They absolutely adored each other! Twenty-one years ago when we returned from China with our Kate, Patti ran over to our house, scolding me at the top of her lungs for not telling her where we had gone for two weeks. I told her we had brought a special "souvenir" from China for her and "it" was in the backseat of the car. Patti ran to the backseat, saw our daughter, began crying and said, "I finally have my baby girl!" Katie reached her arms up to Patti, and the rest is history. They were madly in love from that point forward. The Schwitz family is going to terribly miss you, Patti! God bless🙏. Love, Ann, Mike & Katie

I'm sorry to learn of Patti's passing. I went to elementary school with her at Silver Springs school. She was my friend as a child and I remember her fondly. We lost touch after 6th grade but I do still remember her. I'm very sorry for your loss. Susan Andersen Holec
