Brett Marston

Brett, I'm so sorry this is so late. I just found out about your passing. It hit me like a ton of bricks. We both started at CUNA Mutual in 1979. We remained friends from that day forward. While we didn't see each other that often over the last few years, it was always a joy to see you again. Thanks to you, I made it to more bars than I care to mention! Brett, I'll miss you. Godspeed, old friend.

Brett. Life, as always, can be very unpredictable. So sorry to hear that you have recently passed away.

R.I.P. Brett, fellow Vietnam Era veteran. We worked together briefly at CUNA. Although we lost touch pretty much through the years Ill always renember you as a very real, and personable guy.

Dear Brett (Dad Brett), It's taken me over a week to try to process your passing, it came out of far left field. Although I hadn't seen you since our Father's Day shin dig earlier this year (which was an awesome time we all had), we had spoken a few times. Then Jason messages me and I call and you tell me of the Cancer on Thursday Dec 12th, during our 15min conversation I could tell how miserable you were feeling, but knowing you, I thought you were going to bounce out of it and make it to Christmas here with us as you have for the past few year's... I had your Budweiser on the grocery list, and was already setting up transportation for you if you weren't up to driving. Unfortunately, you took a turn for the worse within days, and by Monday morning you were in the VA Hospital. Your Brother Mark made the call to get you to the hospital after you called him and you seemed in distress. Mark made his way up from Illinois that night and a cpl times that week staying in a hotel to be by your side. Jason was there daily holding your hand while keeping his emotions tight to himself as always. Devin and I both made it up to visit you, it's not easy seeing someone you love in that condition. Jason was by your side until the very end, I know how hard that was and is for him, even though he holds those feelings in tight. You would be proud as ever to know how Jason is taking care of your affairs. My heart and mind are saddened with your departure from this crazy world. I know there's many people who will be missing you (and your awesome stories). You made friends every where you went, there's probably not one bar in Dane County that doesn't know Brett Marston... The computer programmer when computers were the size of a house, the Badger Cab driver for 20+ yrs, the Vietnam Veteran who served his country HONORABLY! The father to Jason, a close friend to our mother Beverly and to all our family, an unofficial stepdad to me (you were there in the hospital after I was born and reminded me on many occasions you changed my diaper.. don't know if that's something I'd brag about). Anyhow, I just wanted to say a few words, and although you can't read them now, I'm sure you know how much I and all of us love you and how much you mean to our family, and how much you will be missed! RIP Brett.. you are loved and in our memories forever! Love, -Joel
