Obituary
MADISON – Ruel G. “Bud” Mick, age 85, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2024, at his home after a long battle with cancer. Bud was born on September 23, 1939, to Ruel and Anita Mick. He graduated from Central High School in Madison, WI. Bud married the love of his life, Judy Ochalla, on May 9, 1959, in Madison, WI. He worked at Madison City Water Utility, Owner of Mick’s Liquor, and was a finish carpenter at Kraemer Brothers Construction. Bud had the great gift for gab, was an avid hockey enthusiast, a coach for the Westside Flyers, and loved the game of golf, playing for fun however always played with a competitive edge. He had a passion for woodworking, doing projects for many family and friends with outstanding craftmanship and skill.
Bud is survived by his wife of 65 years, Judy; children, Greg (Jackie) Mick and Patty (Mike) Vorlob; grandchildren, Kara, Evan, Paige, Ben, Jordan, and Dom; and great grandchildren, Jaxson, Jett, Josie, Sevyn, Case, and Koa. He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Maxine, Kenny, and Dick.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 220 Enterprise Drive, Verona. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Rest in Peace, Bud. I will always cherish our visits when you and Judy came to Johhnys Italian Steakhouse in Middleton, for lunch. It will be nice to continue to see Judy so we can reminisce and I can learn more about your many talents and accomplishments. Rest well Bud.
